NAD 773 Problem

My 9 day old NAD 773 needs to be replaced. I can only get analog audio and only via the Tivo unit. Digital board seems to be gone. Plug in any optial cable and the audio is gone. I hope this is a fluke as this is my first NAD component. Dealer is stepping to the plate and will have a new unit installed tomorrow! Other then the hiss issue some are having is anyone else having a problem with the 773 ?

Man thats disappointing, Dave. I don't own a 773, but my 762 purchased last year has been back to the dealer for a couple things, then finally sent back to NAD for repair/replacement of the front panel display (it started puking out random, spurious characters).

It would appear that the problems that many 7x2 users complained about have made their way to the 7x3 series. A real shame, since my 762 is a fine, fine piece of equipment, supremely flexible, easy to use, buckets full of power.....

But based on what I have read, and my own experience, I could never recommend a NAD product to anyone. On a positive note, dealer support seems to be good, as is factory support. But all things considered, I would rather have a bulletproof product from a company that had crap support than a crap product from a company with great support.

If you haven't checked already, ensure that the digital input is assigned to the correct source (the default may not be the same as the source you have your TiVo feeding into).

Thanks for the tip! The system was working perfectly for 9 days and then poof no audio. Tried the factory reset to no avail. The new unit arrived tonight and the installer will be here tomorrow. I just hope this is not a trend with the 773.
