Yamaha HTR-5790 settings for DVD watching?
What setting do you recommend for watching DVD's with this receiver?
I have DTS digital input and currently I watch on DTS Surround Standard. (Neo 6 Cinema)
Do you think the enhanced version provides a better sound or do you like something completely different?

NEO:6 is a DSP for stereo tracks, similar to Dolby PLII, not an enhanced DTS. The fact that you are getting NEO:6 when a DTS track is selected means your DVD player is sending PCM rather than bitstream. If you set the receiver to "Auto" it should pick up DTS and DTS-ES automatically. Conversely, you should not be able to select NEO:6 if a DTS track is playing.

I use PLII for watching TV, let it auto select for movie channels, and use DTS if available for DVDs. I never use any of the Yamaha DSPs.

It actually goes to surround standard when the movie starts but during the menu screen it shows neo 6 cinema. Should I select another setting.
BTW, the DTS and digital lights are lighting up during movie play.

OK, that sounds correct. Most menus are stereo, so NEO:6 is OK for that. If it just says DTS or DTS:Cinema during a movie, it is working right.
