Speaker Selector Question. Please Help....

Ok, So I am trying to help a friend figure this out. She has a decent 5.1 home theater set up. Since she got her new Samsung DLP television she has the surround set up in the den. She also has a pair of speakers in an enclosed back porch as well as a pair in the living room.

Currently she is working through a Pioneer receiver. It is only 5.1 capable. I am trying to figure out how to add the additional pairs of speakers to the setup with the most cost effective solution.

What I have so far is recommending she get a decent multi-zone/source receiver with a 7.1 setup. She would keep the 5.1 setup for the theater. Then attaching a speaker selector to the extra 2 channels (second zone), and run the 2 pairs of speakers off of the speaker selector. I am trying to do this without having to buy an amplifier. Any thoughts? Help?

Thank you so much,
Stephen
