Looking for a budget reciever

I am in the market for a good budget reciever. My top contender right now is a refurbished Onkyo TX-SR502. My only real requirements are 2 component video inputs and an under $300 price tag. I will only be using stereo speakers so surround isn't a necessity. Obviously, sound quality is the most important feature.

Thanks.

Stereo only receivers (or integrated amps) usually don't have video switching of any sort...which is good for purity in the audio signal.

I gave up on tracking my collection and actually started watching what I have.

There's a ton of choices out there. Check out some of the Yamahas or Pioneers.

For that price, go digital. You can get the the Panasonic SA-XR50 for about $240 delivered and it does switching and has all digital sound. I have an Onkyo stereo receiver. Nice receiver but the Panny will sound better-better detail, imaging, clarity, etc.

For $300, go to ecost.com and get a Denon refurb.

I have the 502. It's pretty nice.
