We know your position by now anyway
I could probably cut and paste your responses from old threads and no one would know the difference!
Besides, isn't it about time for the traditional 'beer ending'?
that\'s my story and I\'m stickin\' to it!

It implies that every single one of us are mindless, uneducated, zombie lemmings.

Not at all. We all have our biases, even those of us who are educated, intelligent, and determined not to follow the crowd (which can be a bias in itself). There's no reason to attach a pejorative connotation to the need to remove bias from human perception. It's simply an acknowledgement that we're human. And being tired of being told you have biases doesn't disprove that you have them.

He'll hear the same differences he did in the sighted comparison (the M-L won't magically sound better), and he'll STILL prefer the form factor of the Bose.

Well now you have confused me how DBTs work. I thought the listener wouldn't know before hand which two speakers were being compared, isn't it? But what do I know about DBTs after all I don't use that argument to justify my purchases.
Well said And my bias for a particular type of colored sound is no better than your bias for a (so called) accurate sound.

Thanks Bob for acknowledging that we are all humans
Now we all can drink to that. What say Bob and Chu?

Prior to every detailed description of every DBT I've ever read about, people are very much aware of what they're comparing. They're able to compare both devices "openly", familiarize themselves with their sound, etc. And why shouldn't they? It's only during the test that the identities are hidden.

So are you really saying you don't have good knowledge of what it is you criticize? Not a good approach.
Yep, which is why we should use our ability to think to overcome our human weaknesses, instead of insisting that our perceptions must be infallible.

What and arrogant and condescending remark
Must be tough to be on such a higher plane than the rest of us poor, unenlightened slobs.
Have a nice day and try not to fall off. It might be me you land on.
P.S. You'll want the last word I'm sure. Go for it....it's all yours.

It's "arrogant and condescending" to say we're all human, and need to deal with our weaknesses? That makes no sense at all, and no, it isn't "arrogant and condescending" to say so.

This is true when you use DBT for establishing differences. As I(and others) have been stating that DBTs can be used also for establishing preferences (inspite of your blatant refusal) like they did here:
http://www.hersheyinvestorrelations....item_id=454226
And several other DBTs you can dig up for establishing preferences in foods. And in such tests the subjects don't know before hand what items are being tested. Now you find an excuse why such tests cant be used for establishing preferences in speakers?

But you have really proven beyond any doubt that you tout something that you dont have complete knowledge about. Equally bad approach. BTW you forgot to see the smiley face after my lines.

So I hope you will use your ability to think and read more about what you have been touting all along (without complete knowledge) and over come your weakness. And no I won't consider you 'arrogant and condescending' if you say you have to deal with your weakness. In fact I'll applaud you for your courage to accept that you have a weaknesses.

Tha's hardly an example of scientific research (which is what I was talking about). It's a marketing blurb, similar to saying product X makes your clothes 37% brighter. Based on what?
Bose does a blind "listening test" when they cover their little speakers with fake covers, but no one considers that a scientific comparison. I was talking about science, not press releases. Speakers sound (objectively) different. Different chocolate tastes objectively different. Pick what you like and go with it. Just don't claim that:
A. Every difference you perceive must be objectively real.
B. Science is utterly unable to explain every difference you perceive.
It just isn't so.
