Recommend a used stereo amp for $300.00

Hi folk's,

Could anybody recommend some used amps for around $300.00.
I will be using a Rotel RSX 1055 as a pre amp, with Triangle Celius speakers. This system is for both serious stereo listening as well as home theater. Some amp's I am considering are as follows:

Rotel RB981
Parasound HCA-1000
B&K ST-140
Belles 150

This purchase will have to last me for the forseeable future due to my three older teenagers. As such, my choices are pretty limited so I have to make the right choice. Their are few to none possibilities in my area so I am forced to make a purchase sound unheard.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Danny

Dan- IMO any amp, regardless of brand will work for you. It may be just as well to choose an amp that most closly matches the appearance of our equipment rather than to try to make huge or even minor distinctions between the way each sounds. All amps you listed are major brands and I personally would not hesitate to purchase the first one available.

Okay, I know it's out of budget, but it's new with full warranty.

I can recommend the Kenwood KM-X1000. There are none on eBay at the moment, though there often are and they go for around $200. There are a couple on Audiogon now. I have two of them in my system and they're great. They are stable into two ohms and you get a cool THX logo on the front.

The search is over for now. I just pulled the trigger on a B&k ST 140 I won on Ebay. I believe I got a good price at $242.00. I am hoping it will tame the slight brightness on my Triangles. The Rotel RSX 1055 should work great as a preamp for the fronts. Stereo is where my heart is so I am looking forward to the arrival of my new baby.

Thank's for the suggestions.

How is a power amplifier going to do that?
