Sony STR-DB790 vs STR-DB2000

Hi,
Would anyone have advice/experience with the Sony STR-DB2000 ? Wondering if the benefit of a digital amplifier is worth the price difference (almost 2x).
I read excellent reviews on the DB790, what are the main contenders to consider ?
Many thanks for the help, new to this stuff and trying to get it right ...
JC

It was my understanding the current ES line was pulled from the market. To that end, I'd say look at something other than Sony. IMO, give a listen to Marantz, NAD, Harman Kardon, Denon, Onkyo.

I can't speak of the DB-790, but I love my DB-930! I'll be replacing it in about 8 months for a 7.1 receiver, but it'll be moved to the basement and run whole house audio.

Kubaz, here is one:

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/fram...?reviewid=3695

I posted this link several times, many in this forum just don't like Sony, ES or not. In this review, the DB790 was the best pick among comparable Denon, Onkyo, Marantz & JVC models. The DB790 did 65 WPC with 5 channels driven, no bad for an entry level receiver.
