Denon AVR-2802 upgradable to PL IIx ?

The AVR-2802 has preouts for both SBL and SBR.

I know that upgrade from II to IIx involves upgrading the firmware. Any chance of Denon offering any such upgrade ?

If it doesn't have an RS232 port, there is no way to upgrade the receiver without opening it up, not something that is very likely for a manufacturer to do. Not to mention that this receiver is 2 generations old, though it may not have been so long, I would not hold my breath.

I doubt very much if Denon would even have an upgrade path for that receiver.

Also, look at the history of Denon - only the AVR-5800 had an upgrade option and it was $800 to get it to feature Dolby Pro Logic II along with a few other changes.
