Upgrading a H/T receiver

I currently am powering the Denon 3802 to my h/t system. I am thinking of upgrading but am not sure which route to go. First and most this will be for movies ONLY. I would like to keep the purchase under $1500.00. Can somebody recommend a unit that will give me some definite benefits over the current Denon or at that price range is their that much of a difference.

You have an excellent receiver already. About the only upgrade from there might be to seperates.....and I'm not a seperates fan, personally. I'd upgrade something else. Maybe get a good universal player and some dvd-a and sacd music, if you don't already have that. If you don't have it already, how about HDtv? HD satellite? DVD burner? HT furniture? All kinds of possibilities.

A $1500 multi-channel poweramp?
A $1500 Hi-Fi stereo integrated amp? (use this for music, and powering the L/R's)
Subwoofer?

What is your other kit- you might have a weakness elseware (ie naff sub, 14" tv etc)
