JVC Receivers

Does anybody own or have any knowledge on the JVC receivers?I am looking at the RX-7030,or maybe the RX-8020.Wondering too about the watts. My speakers are 100w each and the receivers are 110w/per ch.or 120.Would that be a problem?

Thanks
Ed

The wattage is not an issue. The receiver probably puts out 1/2 of what they say (almost all manufacturers exaggerate their power ratings).

Actually, Kev, from the last time a JVC receiver was tested by Sound and Vision mag - it put out a little over 2/3 of its rated amount.

I own the 8020, and love it. That model is a 2 yr. old model, but well worth the money. A lot of bang for the buck. The 8020 has a switch on the back for using either 4 ohm or 8 ohm speakers. I use 4 ohm fronts without a problem. The 7030 doesn't have this feature. The 8020 also has OSD (On Screen Display) that the 7030 does not have.
The 7030 is a 6.1 receiver, and the 8020 is a 5.1 with pre outs, so you can hookup an amp and have 6.1/7.1.........
The 7030 is rated at 110x6 and the 8020 is rated at 100x5.

As I said....I love my 8020! You can't go wrong with whichever one you choose.
Good luck!
