I´m searching for a receiver for a medium size room to be used with Infinity Oreus or KEF 2005 speakers.
I´m mostly concerned with music quality.
Budget is 350$

What do you think i should go for?

Here´s what i´ve seen so far:

Pioneer VSX-D812K

Yamaha RX V440
Yamaha RX-V540
Yamaha HTR-5660

Panasonic - SAHE100K
Panasonic SA-XR25EG

JVC RX-7030V

Sony STR-DB790

Denon AVR-684
Denon AVR-1604

Harman Kardon AVR130

Onkyo TX-SR501

I'd go with the Panasonics, but you can get a refurbed SAHE200 from jandr.com for $199.

You'll be *VERY* pleased with it for music, especially at this price point.

Get a v540. the 56** is last years models. The v*** are the new models. Or save up and get a v1400 off the net for 550 or around there. I had a v540 took it back for a denon 1804 and the yammie sounds better. I then took back the denon and got the yamaha v1400. Good reciever. You will be impressed.

Movies ... Yamaha
Music ... Harmon Kardon

Vanns.com now has the HK AVR-230 for $375 w/free ship and no tax ; which will put you only $25 over budget.

I have an Onkyo 510 from the HTiB. But I originally bought a Onkyo 501. I should have kept it. Whatever. It was not $350. It was a lot cheaper than that at BrandsMart in South Florida. I think it ended up being $288. Although, given a budget of $350 and the HK being available that is the way I would go.
