I have an A/V receiver in a closed cabinet and was wondering if anyone has an idea on rigging up a small l.e.d. etc. which will tell me whether the rec. is on or off with out having to open the cabinet.

I have zero experience with wiring up led's etc. so any help would be great.

Piece of cake, Kenny. All you need is an AC adapter plugged into one of your receiver’s switched outlets. Pick out an LED that needs generally the same DC voltage, and you’re in business. You’ll have to cut the connector off the adapter and solder the individual wires to the LED. If you can’t solder:
