Question about bass and treble control on receivers.

Ok this is a big time newbie question.

I'm considering buying either one of the following:

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/deta...=152340#scroll

or

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=340606

Leaning towards the sherwood because of price (if it does the same job).

Do both of these offer bass and treble controls?

As well, the sherwood has an amp, but my speakers have a built in amp, is this going to cause me a problem?

Thanks for you time.

See you in there.

Blashy,

Look up Sherwood’s website – you should have no problem finding out there if the receiver you’re looking at has bass and treble controls.

The second link is for some kind of decoder. Don’t know what it is or what it’s for, but I’m pretty sure it won’t replace a receiver.

Yes, you can use a receiver with active (powered) speakers. Just look for one that has pre-amp outputs for the channels you’ll be using the speakers on.

Thanks for the info.

I can't find the receiver on the Sherwood site, it is a late model...

I'll keep looking.

See you in there.
