Denon question

Can the POA-5200 be plugged into a AVR-1082? I believe the 1082 specs said not to exceed 100W and the 5200 is 120W per channel.

You don't elaborate but you certainly can use the POA-5200 with your 1082 (to give a higher quality source of power.) But, you should not plug it into the 1082's AC power outlet. It will pull too much current from the 1082 and could even be a fire hazard. (BTW, the output wattage of an amp does not directly translate to what it pulls from the AC outlet.)
