HK AVR225 remote...

I hope this is posted in the correct place.

I tried to program the HK remote to control my TV. I tried 4 different codes listed for a Sylvania TV, 123,128,145,148 and none of them worked. I bought a Toshiba DVD player and was able to program it correctly. The TV is a year old. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you can get the DVD player to work correctly but not the TV it could be for any number of reasons. Perhaps they don't even have your TV as one listed for any number of reasons. Try giving HK customer support a call and see if they have something updated you can try out.

Dwayne .. another thing you can try is just random TV code program codes, if you notice that programming codes are repeated through a large number of different manufacturers as the same codes are often re-used over and over. Chances are that some code will work for the TV .. just that it isn't listed as a code in the programming booklet.

yeah...I guess there is only 999 options =) Maybe when I have a couple extra hours on my hands. I will give HK a call also.

Another question, are these codes specific to the HK remote or the the TV?

I've seen some remotes have some of the same codes as others, some are completely different.

I'm not sure if HK has the same codes as other manufacturers or what, but I would probably doubt that they do.

No I didn't try the auto program feature. I didn't know it had one. I will try to find it in the manual.
