Just got Harman Kardon AVR 8500

I just unpacked it, however there are a ton of scratches on the face of the A/V receiver. Is this normal? It looks used. I'll be taking it back.

There is usually a film of plastic covering the display.

Peel it off and you should be fine.

If there is no plastic then you probably did end up with a used one.

haha yeah I had the same thing. I didn't see the plastic strip and it looked all scratched but I eventually noticed it... see if there a piece of plastic u can peel off there... if not it's probably used.

It should be evident when you touch the front of the unit. If not, then you may have gotten a used or refurb model. Where did you get it from?

I live in Dubai. I got it from an authorized local Harman Kardon dealer.
