Your two receivers are different, and comparing so there isn't really a good answer to your question. As Frank notes, the amount of power difference can account for the difference in volume, but Sony may have changed their scale as well.
At the same time, check your settings, as you may have something turned on that is dropping your sound levels.
As long as you are getting the volume you are looking for *without distortion*, you shouldn't worry too much about the difference.
