HK 525 for $450?

I just bought an open box HK 525 for $450 at Circuit City. It has remote and manual, is under full warranty, and has no visible damage. How did I do?

I just can't understand why in the US you can buy a 525 for $450US and here in Canada they go for $1400-$1600+ tax CAD. Buy the way, you did pretty good

Chris,

Great price on the 525. Enjoy the fine sounds.

Great price!

I bought mine (HK525) from OneCall.com a few months ago when it was selling for about $500. It was factory referbrushed though.

Big thumbs up so far. I hooked everything up last night and gave it a test run with Attack of the Clones.

Saving Private Ryan in DTS is next...

I have a couple of questions if anyone knows:

1. The manual mentions a PCM (?) adapter for hooking an MP3 player into one of the optical digital ports. Does anyone know where I can find this?

2. I would like to get a remote extender. I have the 525, DVD player, and DirecTV receiver in a cabinet that is a little bit behind my typical sitting position. I do not want the RCA wireless remote extender they sell at BB, CC, etc. Does anyone know where I can get one that runs a wire from the cabinet to a spot my remote can reach more easily?

I appreciate any input!
