I am buying a new amplification set for my system, and I now have my options narrowed to basically four:

Roksan Kandy KA-1 integrated (1100 dollars)
Adcom 5800 + Rotel RC972 preamp (1000)
Adcom 7000 integrated (1000)
Marantz SR-18 receiver (900)

Considering the closest upgrade I have in mind is a subwoofer, and I will use the amp to drive a pair of JBL S310II, mainly for music usage, what would be the recommendation?

Of the four I would choose the Roksan. I have a SR-18 in my HT system and it has a warm pleasant sound to it but I would still choose a nice integrated like the Roksan over a SR-18 for 2-channel. Have you considered brands like NAD, Arcam and Unison also?

But will the Roksan Kandy deliver more power than the Adcom combo? Or will deliver less, with better quality?

The Roksan does have 110wpc so it has plenty of power. I think the Roksan would provide better detail than the Adcom. The Rotel/Adcom combo would have more slam. All in what you value.

For music I would go with the Marantz SR-18.Very musical receiver.

I don't care for Adcom but it's your ears so try and listen to your choices before buying if you can.

I would probably go for B&K or Parasound before Adcom. Just a personal choice.
