WOW!! Looks pretty sweet!

I wonder how their YPAO works compared to MCACC? I was planning on picking up a pre/pro pretty soon, but one of these might hold me over 'till Firewire and DVI(HDMI) are implemented into the new pre/pro's. Decisions, decisions...

Either way, my RX-V1200 is on it's way out.

Mingl:

Do not worry, heard thru the grapevine that the Z-1 replacement will be out around October for about $4,500. The RX-V3300, we can assume will be out as the 3400, as a lower priced alternative to the top of the line model.
Wonder what they will call the Z-1 replacement...ummm, maybe the T-3 Terminator.

I'll buy your Z-1 for $500, you can have my DSP-A1 for $250. Deal?

Any pre/pro? No.

Adjustable crossovers? Or are they still stuck on a fixed 90 Hz? (They don't say.) I love Yamaha's DSP, but ...

Will be interesting to get the details on YPAO. I.e., what kind of measurements (1/3 octave, 1/6, 1/10, etc) they take and what kind of eq parameters are available, and if there's any user adjustability...

If it's not worth waiting until the last minute to do, then it's not worth doing.

If it's THX select certified it must use a THX crossover it's not made by THX but has certain specs as to what the rolloff must be and must be 80Hz. So this means it uses fixed 80Hz instead or uses an adjustable crossover.

Seems like everyone is jumping on room calibration train made popular by Pioneer. Yamaha, rumored Denon, Meridian, and Krell all are on the train, and I'd expect the top of the line Yamaha to have i.Link since Denon is introducing i.Link as well. It appears Pioneer must be raking in the cash if everyone is starting to copy them.

The Krell Showcase has been out for a long time. Around the same time as the MCACC stuff was coming out wasn't it?

The R&D for features like that must take quite some time, so it seems highly unlikely that they were "jumping on the room calibration train made popular by Pioneer."
