DD EX and DTS ES Compatability

I have a 5.1 receiver with DD and DTS decoding only. If I try to play a disc that has a DD EX or DTS ES soundtrack, will my receiver treat it like a normal DD or DTS track, or will it just not work?

It'll treat it as a normal DD or DTS soundtrack. All of the EX/ES tracks are backwards compatible.
