AVR520 LFE "problem" very interesting info

I know many people on this board who have had this problem, where the LFE is 10db too low. And others who claim to have not had any problems at all, and I now know why. I inquired with HK about this problem many times in the past by email and phone but never got any meaningful response. Just many tech support people playing dumb telling me there is no problem. Well I wrote DTS an email telling them about the problem and got the following response. "You indeed have an issue. The Harman Kardon AVR-520 was sold on the market several months before we certified it. The uncertified version has the LFE channel that is 10dB too low. On 6/12/2002, it's LFE level had been corrected and we granted certification. The problem cannot be fixed by software upgrade (via RS-232). You will have to ask Harman for a hardware upgrade or exchange." So I guess HK is well aware of the problem and is just trying to sweep it under the rug. Very aggravating! I printed out DTS response letter and took my receiver in for warranty yesterday. We'll see what happens.
