Off topic from the original question....(sorry if I'm threadfarting)

What's the deal with the Sunfire current source and voltage source thingy??

Also, about the sunfire amps in general...

They claim to be able to double output as impedence is halved, but don't have massive power supplies like other manufacturers do that make that same claim. I know they have done something different with the power supply, but does it affect the sound?? Is it still class A/B like most others??

They're all Bryston dealers.

Problem is Dana is that these are not stereo stores - only some kind of professional resource. I am very familiar with all the shops in town here - I suspect you can order an amp from these places but seeing or hearing one may be difficult.

Thanks anyway for the list....

Hey Dana, I just got around to peeking into this thread again and saw your list. Muchos gracias!!! Ditto on what Lee said.

They have to types of outputs, a standard voltage which gives you a tighter response and to me a higher impact sound. The other is current source output which to me was softer and more like a tube amp sound. I have the Cinema 7 and preferred the voltage source output for my system which is used 75% for HT and 25% music.

Interesting note for those of you that use bi-amp speakers you can use the voltage source to drive the woofers and the current source for driving the upper part of your speakers and have the best of both.
