Kenwood VR-6060 DTS Problem

Hi,

I purchased a Kenwood VR-6060 several months ago and have been very pleased with it. However, now that I have become more comfortable using the receiver I have been exploring some of the features and have run into a problem concerning DTS playback.
When I select the DTS option in the audio portion of the DVD menu, the sound stops. The sound in the menu continues, but as soon as the actual movie begins the receiver never recognizes the signal. I have the receiver set to "full auto", so it should recognize the change. I have tried switching to the manual option also, but the receiver only toggles between the Dolby Digital and Analog options. I can't get the receiver to switch to DTS as the input DVD audio source. I've tried just about everything and have made no progress, and the instruction manual is no help. I had ran into another problem with the Tru-bass option, and managed to figure out how to deal with it, but no luck with this DTS trouble. I want to pick up some DTS encoded music CD's soon so I really need to figure out how to get the option to work.
I know I can't be the only one to have run into this problem and hope someone out there with the VR-6060 can lend me some advice.

This is almost certainly the cause of the problem, which is one of the most commonly reported issues on the HTF.

Most DVD players ship from the factory with DTS output disabled. You have to enable it in the player's menu (which is different from the disc's menu).

IOW, the receiver probably isn't the problem.

Guys,

Thank you very much!!! It was just a matter of switching a setting on the DVD Menu. I didn't even realize that there was a exclusive menu for the player itself. Anyway, the DTS tracks are working great now. Thanks again to both of you for taking the time to respond.
