Rotel 1075...what do you think?

Thinking on finally purchasing the Rotel 1075 amp today for $850. What do you think? Will be driving the Polk LSi series with this guy. Enough amp for these 4 ohm speakers?

I love my 1075, but am driving 8 ohm speakers.

Go here and click on *Contact Rotel* and ask them the same question.

Ditto what Geoff said.
I paid $1k for a silver one, for $850 I'd JUMP on it!
Good luck.

Thanks guys for the feedback.

Yea is good for 4 ohms...200 x 5. LSi's are 88 sensitivity but should be no problem. Find out shortly.

Are you sure you're not looking at the 1095 (200x5)? The 1075 is 120x5.

Amps deliver more power into lower ohms. A possible problem is that the lower the ohm rating, the more difficult the load on the amp. Most decent quality separate amps are stable into 4 ohms though. Should not be any problems driving those speakers.

Everything you need to know about ohms is right here.

Its 120w x 5 at 8ohms and 200w x 5 at 4 ohms so he was correct in his statement.

Nick V, interesting read. Thanx for the thread. Funny how speakers and related electronics work. Not too long ago I used to think doubleling the amp's wattage output would double the volume. It would only be 3dB. Really not much at all.
