Enormous interest in $3,000 processors.
For some reason I thought that the majority of contributors to this forum were receiver kinds of guys. I have been totally shocked to see the Anthem AV-20 thread with over 1500 posts! I had no idea that there were so many on this forum willing and able to spend $2,500-$3,500 for a processor.
Last time I saw this much interest it was for the Outlaw 1050 receiver ($500)?
I guess I am one of those trailing edge guys. I'd be happy with a new Lexicon MC-1 for $1800.

If you can afford it and you enjoy spending your money on HT then why not? No different than any expensive hobby such as cuisine, wine, cars, golf...
Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you\'ll give and tears you\'ll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

Actually just 27 Just kidding, but you're right Camp, there are just a few fairly regular posters on that thread, and there's been a lot of 'casual' posts made that have resulted in the multitude of posts. It probably coud have been broken into several different threads based on all the directions it's taken, enough so that it's almost its own "anthem forum" rather than an "anthem thread" Still, I'm looking forward to a new thread for V2.1......

Sometimes when my wife remarks on the expense of my audio\home theater enthusiasm (and mine is relatively inexpensive compared to many), I offer to take her to the local "outdoor world" showroom to look at the $25,000 boat and trailer setups the locals buy to just go out on the lake (not to mention the $250 fishing poles and $500 shotguns, along with all the gear)...

I find 74 unique names in the thread. I would agree that 30 seems to be close to the number of regular and occasional posters. At least 30 others had general interest in the AVM-20. The other 10-15 were from posters not interested in purchasing the AVM-20.
