I'm not familiar with that receiver, but if it has speaker terminals for back surrounds it can certainly be used to power the back surrounds while you use the 5.1 amp for fronts, center, and regular surrounds.
Many people with 6.1/7.1 receivers use separate amps for just the mains and center and let the receiver power all the surrounds as they are usually less demanding, but what you're contemplating will also work.
