JOHN FORD
Wow, he made a lot of movies. I've seen what may be considered his top three. There are several others that I plan to check out but haven't got around to yet. I encountered these on my quest to watch the AFI's top 100 list. Liberty Valance is by far my favourite, but I consider all three of these to be top tier films. Ranked in order:
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
The Grapes of Wrath (1940)
Stagecoach (1939)
The Searchers (1956)
Edit: Added Stagecoach which I had missed.

Pretty deficient in my Ford viewing. The one I'd like to see the most is Fort Apache.

Not one of my favorite directors. He made some truly great films, but some really awful ones, including one I despise for reasons I won't go into here to avoid a rehash of the debate.
