Is it time for a battle poll?

Guys. It has been a long time since I have posted int he polls area so I am not sure what polls have been conducted in the last couple of years.

I was wondering, is it worthwhile to compile a list of characters (I don't know, 40 - 80 characters) and create a super battle poll along the lines of..... Gandalf vs The Emperor from Star Wars for example (who would win the head-to-head battle and why) coming out with an ultimate winner?
