I first heard of this film and its director on a documentary about Silent films; the snippets they showed from it intrigued me enough to blind buy the Image DVD and I certainly don't regret it. From the rest of his films, I've also heard good things about MIRACLE OF THE WOLVES (1924), WOODEN CROSSES (1932) and LES MISERABLES (1934).
