Re: The Best Film of 2005 Tournament
I have seen some of these films. Just none that have been matched up against each other yet.
"Movies should be like amusement parks. People should go to them to have fun." - Billy Wilder
"Subtitles good. Hollywood bad." - Tarzan, Sight & Sound 2012 voter.
"My films are not slices of life, they are pieces of cake." - Alfred Hitchcock
"My great humility is just one of the many reasons that I am vastly superior to everyone else." - Ramrod Clerk

Bad News Bears
Abstain - don't care to see The Producers, but Downfall is amazing.
Munich - I loved Jarhead, but Munich is my #1 film of 2005.
Abstain - seen neither.

Re: The Best Film of 2005 Tournament
Advancing
Syriana advances over Transporter 2 - 1-1/coinflip (while I didn't think Syriana was exceptional, Transporter 2 was a step down from the surprisingly good original)
Millions beats Everything is Illuminated - 1-0
The Best of Youth advances over The Beat That My Heart Skipped - 1-0 (I break the tie. Beat is good drama, BOY is great storytelling and one of the best films I saw last year)
The Corpse Bride beats Chicken Little - 2-0 (2nd vote comes from my seven yr old daughter, Bailey)
The Aristocrats beats Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room - 1-1/coinflip (While I initially rated these equally, I think in light of the government actually getting a guilty verdict, it gives Enron added importance as a historical document. Aristocrats was a really good idea nearly killed by overediting, though it still manages to be quite funny in sequences)
The Bad News Bears over Wedding Crashers - 2-0 (the first result I really disagree with. WC was a solid hour of laugh till it hurts hilarity though the last 30-40m does drop off. I saw BNB as another crap remake, but the majority speaks)
Munich over Jarhead - 4-1 (haven't seen Jarhead)
Next Round (if you haven't noticed already, many (though not all, some are random) of these matchups are based on a shared theme)

Downfall tied 0-0 with The Producers
Schultze Gets the Blues up 1-0 vs. Look at Me

The Constant Gardener
*edit*
Mysterious Skin (Just watched it this morning -- excellent! "Breakfast on Pluto" was a big disappointment for me, with an eventually annoying Cillian Murphy performance. )

Re: The Best Film of 2005 Tournament
It looks like the ones I have seen are losing, so it's quite possible I may not get to vote even once in this tourney.
