I might very well end up being the only person rating his work, but Allan King is just too good a filmmaker to ignore.
King is Canada's premier documentarian who also dabbles in features and episodic TV work (Road to Avonlea, Friday the 13th, etc.). His documentary style and themes pre-date similar work from the more well-known Frederick Wiseman by several years. Much of his documentary work can be devastating to watch and not easily forgotten, but unfortunately only his TV episode work is available on DVD.
