I’m more impressed with the sets in ‘Caligari’ than the photography, plus I believe that there are several aspects of Allen’s films that go unnoticed, because of the dialogue.

Hmm. I'm not overly impressed with Caligari, but looking carefully at the screenshots, I don't see anything terribly impressive with Annie Hall either. By a nose:

I didn't even show you the comparison in Annie Hall between how all of Allen's other girls are shot or how Annie with other men is shot, versus the way that we see them above, when they're together. Woody with other women is in a very ugly, muddy, kindof green floresent light.
