I love Deep Impact. It's a very character oriented and subdued disaster film, full of emotion.

Deep Impact was a decent attempt at showing the human side to the old end of the world scenario, with about 10mins of quality effects work by ILM to liven things up a bit. But compared to that 'other' louder flashier meteor movie of 1998, Deep Impact does tend to look like a tv movie that had accidently strayed into theaters.
Morgan Freeman in 'God Mode' was good value playing the US President "...and the waters receded, cities fall and are rebuilt, heroes die but they are remembered."
