Blackboard Jungle (1955)

I've bought The Professionals twice on dvd, great western. Wrong is Right was called The Man With the Deadly Lens over here in Britland, in a lame attempt to make it sound Bond'ish, since Sean Connery was starring.

Rank order:

Deadline - U.S.A. (1952)
Battle Circus (1953)
Crisis (1950)
Bite the Bullet (1975)
Blackboard Jungle (1955)
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)

In Cold Blood (1967)
Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977)

A perfect example of a director who gets an A for craftsmanship, which means nothing to me, since each of these films gets an F for overall grade. I didn't find anything to like about any of them. Battle Circus is the most interesting, but only because it's an early film about MASH units in Korea, but pales compared to the weakest episode in the tv show, not to mention the movie.

"Movies should be like amusement parks. People should go to them to have fun." - Billy Wilder

"Subtitles good. Hollywood bad." - Tarzan, Sight & Sound 2012 voter.

"My films are not slices of life, they are pieces of cake." - Alfred Hitchcock

"My great humility is just one of the many reasons that I am vastly superior to everyone else." - Ramrod Clerk
