Ah Fellini! Definitely a favorite, though I generally prefer his flights of fancy to his more reality based films.
1. 8 1/2 - A (all-time top 20-25)
2. Juliet Of The Spirits - A
3. Nights Of Cabiria - A
4. And the Ship Sails On... - A
5. The Swindle/Il Bidone - A-
6. The White Shiek - A- (magically delicious)
7. Amarcord - A-
8. Variety Lights - B+
9. Orchestra Rehearsal - B+
10. Fellini, A Director's Notebook - B+ (if this is what I'm thinking of, isn't it an extra on the Criterion DVD of 8 1/2?)
11. Roma - B
12. La Strada - B
13. I Vitelloni - B-
14. La Dolce Vita - B- (Need to see this again)
15. Satyricon - D (there are a few movies "too out there" even for me and this is one of them)
Own: 5 (if Director's Notebook is included. I would like to own And The Ship Sails On eventually, but I'm willing to wait for a better version than the Criterion DVD, which is one of their really old ones)
I'd like to see pretty much everything I haven't seen. I rented a VHS of Ginger and Fred once but the tape unravelled in my VCR
I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow, and the next day, and the next year, and the year after that. - George Bailey

FEDERICO FELLINI
Well, I've only seen 8½ and I went into it cold, not knowing what to expect, and really didn't know what to make of it. It was early on in my adventures into foreign films, so I should probably come back to Fellini and see what his films play like for me now.
8½ (1963)
