What's That Title? or Guess that Flick!

Hi, a friend of mine (honestly) needs help with the title of a film. We can not think of it, it is starting to bug me probably more than him...

1. About 1 or 2 people, definately not a group
2. They are trying to win a contest
3. They have to search/find letters, like Scrabble
4. The word is long, and probably makes no sense
5. It may begin with an S
6. Probably came out between 1985-1995
7. Not an action, comedy, family or sci-fi
8. Possibly a mother and a boy

Any help would be appreciated, please feel free to post your own queries for films as well.

Ryan

MOTORAMA

It stars some little kid trying to get all these motorama cards from a gas station and win a money prize.

Here is today's flicks! Any help would be appreciated.

Both are Sci-Fi related.
Movie #1

Made between either the 60's or the early 80's.
Dystopia (post-apocalyptic) kinda film with one hero
Man is in a brown leather bomber jacket for most of the film
There is a monster he must kill (I believe a guy in suit kinda thing)
Has to find or put together this gun which fits over his entire arm.
Film takes place almost entirely in a desert wasteland.

Movie #2

Made in the 80's or late 70's
Hero is either a time traveler or from another dimension
Man has black hair and tight black garb, complete with black sunglasses, wristbands, and tight black wifebeater.
Man falls in love (or must save) a ballerina.
Man is being chased by some Datth Vader copy cat in a cape or something.
Takes place in a city like NY or LA or something.

Could it be Escape from LA or NY?

I don't know the film, but I know it's not one of those.

"If you write a story about a soldier going AWOL and kidnapping a pregnant woman and finally shooting her in the head, it's called searingly realistic, even though it's never happened in the history of mankind. Whereas if you write about two people falling in love, which happens about a million times a day all over the world, for some reason or another, you're accused of writing something unrealistic and sentimental."
-Richard Curtis, Screenwriter and Director

I am not purposely trying to bump this thread to recieve attention, I honestly forget that I already made it.

If anyone knows the answer to the previous movies, it would be really appreciated!

-

Ok, I have another movie.

-

Came out in early 1990's.
British movie, or atleast takes place in England.
A kid's spy movie.
Rated PG-13 in America
In the end, one of the kid's is in a giant egg.
One scene with frank sexual dialouge (which got me introuble with the parents. )
All the kids are white, with only one black male in the cast.
It is not Robert Rodriguez' Spy Kids.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Brett -

I tried "If Looks Could Kill" on IMDB, and got 3 results. But none of them sound that close to the movie I have in mind. This is a kid's movie for the most part, and I do not think that any guns were involved, sorry Richard Greico.
