EUROPEAN FILM TOURNAMENT
Might as well finish off a World Cinema Trilogy
Theatrical Releases only
European films only (British films are excluded from this one)
Joint Euro/US productions do not qualify
I’ve started us out with 50 films but I think we can make 128 fairly easily.
Everyone has 2 Automatics, 12 nominations, seconds & thirds.
Keep in mind that obscure films that don’t get enough votes will get tossed so choose wisely.

I hope i understand this properly (i've picked 12 nominations/2nds)
Automatic;
Alice in the Cities
The Green Ray
Nominate;
Persona
Pierrot le Fou
Kings of the Road
Celine and Julie go Boating
Mirror
Spirit of the Beehive
Partie de Campagne
Eternity and a Day
Second;
Man with a Movie Camera
Metropolis
Aguirre Wrath of God
Alexander Nevsky
(i'd have liked to nominate/auto Abraham Valley by the great Portuguese Manoel de Oliveira- well in his 90's, as prolific as ever-, but i guess it's too obscure for support!).
Does The Colour of Pomegranates (Armenia) qualify?
I presume someone else will 2nd La Regle du Jeu, so i'll risk its absence to make space for other nominees.

John, I believe the movies in the master list are already in, they don't need backing. And I also think it's 12 of each.
I'll second:
M. Hulot’s Holiday
L’Atalante
Three Colors: White
The Red Desert
La Dolce Vita
And third:
Jules and Jim

John got a few in while I was thinking.
Change my nomination of Pierrot le fou to a Second.
Add a nomination for Contempt

John,
Welcome to the tourney.
As Simon pointed out it's 12 of each & the films on the Master List are already in so there's no need to second & third any of them.
