Jim_K,
Thanks for all your hard works and coming up with fun and exciting thread like this.
I looked at the Master List & First Round Winners, I'm wondering what happened to one of my 2 automatics, Blowup? I thought there were enough slots left when my automatic vote was posted.
Anyway, like Stolen Kisses (which lost to another great & popular film, Rules of The Game during the first Round), I don't think Blowup will survive the first round anyway if it will be pitted against another popular great giant like the Rules of The Game.
Though I voted and preferred Breaking The Waves over the The Blue Angel, am got mixed feelings with Breaking The Waves getting the more votes (and moving into the 2nd round unlike the losers of the battle of the great giants i.e, Wild Strawberries vs. Umberto D., Jules et Jim vs. Three Colors Red, and other heartbreakers finale like pairings in the 1st Rd. I mean those "great giant losers" deserve to advance into the 2nd round than Breaking The Waves.) On second round, let's just hope that great lightweights like Breaking The Waves will ran out of luck with their draw/bracket pairings.
I'm suggesting for next time that tournament participants should be given the chance to rate/grade or rank (the films they have seen among the master list) first and then we or the Tournament Chairman will tabulate/sort their rankings (based on their weighted scores/rankings ala BCS or NCAA). Of course, like in NCAA March Madness, #1 will go up against the last placer and so on. This is only a suggestion even if everything stay as is, I will be there participating.
Once again, way to go JIM_K!

Arman
thanks for the compliments. Blowup is a British film (I already did a British film tournament) which is why I didn't include it. I should have indicated it earlier though sorry.
Matchups will be difficult at times as I don't rank these films but rather try to pick interesting pairings. Doing it any other way would be boring for me.
As for grading the films I've tried something similar before & it just doesn't work. I've learned that the simpler the better when it comes to these tourneys.
The Collection (Blu-Ray High Definition/DVD)
Pre-orders - BLU-RAY: Akira, The Dark Knight, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Death Proof, King Kong, La Femme Nikita, Planet Terror, Raging Bull, Ronin, The Third Man DVD: .................
