A Clockwork Orange--the British Kubrick; not the American one.

The Third Man
The Man in the White Suit
Dr. Strangelove (clearly the better film, and I am baffled at why this would be any less British than A Clockwork Orange )
Goodbye Mr. Chips

Well... American actors, American setting. ACO is quite clearly a British film. Most people wouldn't guess that Strangelove is a British film without knowing it.
ACO is probably Kubrick's "most British" film (or Barry Lyndon).
Of course, it all just boils down to how you look at it.

Peter Sellers isn't British? Peter Bull?

Sigh... yes, the Peters are British. The other four lead actors are American.
I really shouldn't have had to point that out.

But the point is that you have a mixed cast, with the lead (playing the 3 major roles no less) being British. The film was made in Britain at a British studio. All of the reference works I have call this a British film. I just don't understand the reluctance to consider this a British film.
I guess the Good, the Bad & the Ugly must be an American film, after all the 3 leads are all Americans.
