Simon Lepine -
The Third Man (a true classic)
Children of Paradise (started watching it, but didn't like it much)
The Seventh Seal (would've picked it myself, but the box set was too tempting)
Night And Fog (absolutely chilling)

Lew Crippen -
Notorious (excellent choice)
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (didn't live up to the hype)
The Red Shoes (photography is gorgeous as all get-out, but not too great otherwise)
The Lady Eve (my thoughts are posted in the S&S thread)
Taste of Cherry (half-hour idea stretched out to a tedious 95 minutes)
The Magic Flute (very good)

Based on what I've seen, I gotta go with Simon.

Sorry Lew, gotta go with Simon

Rebecca
The 39 Steps
Silence of the Lambs
Charade
Hopscotch
The Lady Vanishes
The Killers
M
Mr. Hulot's Holiday

and if I had picked after everyone had made all of their choices, I would have had this list:

Spoiler:

Hopscotch
The Lady Vanishes

Mr. Hulot's Holiday
Diabolique
The Killer
Mon Oncle
Trouble in Paradise
Rififi

Simon Lepine
The Third Man
Children of Paradise - (even) watched about half on TCM then dozed off
The Adventures of Antoine Doinel
The Seventh Seal
Nights of Cabiria - (even) not a big Fellini fan
All That Heaven Allows - (even) caught the last half on TCM.
Wages of Fear
Bob le Flambeur
Spartacus
Night And Fog - on my to-see list

Vs.

Lew Crippen
Salo - unredeemable trash as a film but a rather shrewd pick (I would've done the same though I'd have waited for a later round)
Grand Illusion
Notorious
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Beauty and the Beast - visually stunning but ultimately(hate to use this phrase but it fits) pretentious eye-candy
The Red Shoes
The Lady Eve
Taste of Cherry
Tokyo Drifter - (even) Suzuki's style is a bit too weird & disjointed for me
The Magic Flute - (even) It's been too long

Lew

Given Jim’s vote, I can abstain and still avoid the shutout.
