Simon Lepine -
The Third Man (a true classic)
Children of Paradise (started watching it, but didn't like it much)
The Seventh Seal (would've picked it myself, but the box set was too tempting)
Night And Fog (absolutely chilling)
Lew Crippen -
Notorious (excellent choice)
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (didn't live up to the hype)
The Red Shoes (photography is gorgeous as all get-out, but not too great otherwise)
The Lady Eve (my thoughts are posted in the S&S thread)
Taste of Cherry (half-hour idea stretched out to a tedious 95 minutes)
The Magic Flute (very good)
Based on what I've seen, I gotta go with Simon.

Sorry Lew, gotta go with Simon
and in case anyone cares, if I had drafted in the ninth position, I would have had the following list:
and if I had picked after everyone had made all of their choices, I would have had this list:
"Movies should be like amusement parks. People should go to them to have fun." - Billy Wilder
"Subtitles good. Hollywood bad." - Tarzan, Sight & Sound 2012 voter.
"My films are not slices of life, they are pieces of cake." - Alfred Hitchcock
"My great humility is just one of the many reasons that I am vastly superior to everyone else." - Ramrod Clerk

Given Jim’s vote, I can abstain and still avoid the shutout.
