Sorry Martin, I forgot to highlight 25th Hour in my rambling post.
Surprised and happy at the outcome. Thanks for the tournament.

Nice job.
My vote for Best of 2002: Spirited Away.

This is one of the best outcomes I have seen in one of these tournaments in quite some time!

Woop!
I'll second that Spirited Away is the best of 2002, but 25th Hour is right up there at 2 or 3.

Well, didn't vote much in this tourney, but thanks for it anyways. Great job, Jim_K.
I've never seen The 25th Hour, but I think I'll watch Do The Right Thing first.
Frankly, I'm not surprised by the result. If Polls proves anything, one camp of thought is definitely outweighing the other.

The final result was 8-7. A veritable landslide.

very nice to see a not-so-popular movie win for a change

I think you're having some problems with your memory, Gonzo! It's happening all the time here.

I just hope people aren't voting a certain way just so that the less popular film can win on principle....
I didn't like 25th Hour much, but obviously a lot of people did so that's cool. Here's what I consider to be the best 2002 films I've seen:
24 Hour Party People
About a Boy
Catch Me If You Can
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Love Liza
Minority Report
Possession
Rabbit-Proof Fence
The Ring
Solaris
Also very good:
About Schmidt
Adaptation
Antwone Fisher
Chicago
Dirty Pretty Things
The Good Girl
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The Hours
The Importance of Being Earnest
Secretary
Star Wars Episode II (despite its shortcomings, still entertaining more often than not)

My list was something like
25th Hour
Spirited Away
What Time Is It There?
Punch-Drunk Love
Talk To Her
can't remember
Sunshine State
Catch Me If You Can
Signs
City of God
Martin, the other films off your list that I would also consider very good are:
Possession
Two Towers
Adaptation
Rabbit-Proof Fence
while many of the others I would call "good", and of course a few I didn't like much at all (Star Wars, 24 Hour Party People, Minority Report)
