I'll picking Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc, IMO it has more emotions than all of those movies combined.

That's true, for the most part: the ending of Paths of Glory packs a wallop...

You're right, I was thinking about Paths of Glory as a possible counter when I wrote this. Barry Lyndon really got to me too emotionally, but that's about it.
