It's time for another Houston meet, don't you think? We could get together at one of the few remaining HT specialty stores, (e.g., more high end than the "big box" stores that sell HTIB, computers, appliances and extended warranties) :>) and then go to lunch as a group. If you have suggetions as to "where", post them here or PM me.

Or if a member of our local group steps up to the plate in the next few days and volunteers to host our group in their own HT, that would be fun, too. (PM me if you want to do that so we can work out details.) We would plan on a dutch-treat lunch as a group with an HT visit as well.

The local members who PM'd in response to the previous post got details of an interesting calibration demo by a professional who deals with clients ranging from those interested in less than $1,000 "theater-in-a-box" systems to multimillion dollar installations for media executives and sports stars.

At that meet, one of our local members suggested we go to one of the new HT specialty stores and then "compare and contrast" that with a visit to a nearby Magnolia inside Best Buy. Might have possibilities. Interestingly, that description fits more than one -- there's an interesting HT store near Willowbrook fairly near a BB and another one in Sugarland also near a BB -- and of course an abundance of restaurants

So it would be interesting to get some feedback on which stores within what geographic area within the Houston metro region would be of most interest.

This coming Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 11:00 AM, the Houston HT Group will meet for a lot of interesting HT talk as well as a Dutch-treat lunch at Shanghai River Restaurant, followed by a "pilgrimage" to a couple of "new" HT stores (one re-opened after being closed several years, the other relocated) more-or-less in the Greenway Plaza area. Although "walk-ins" are welcome, we would appreciate an RSVP to HoustonHTGroup@hotmail.com so we can let the restaurant know how many tables to push together. :>)
