Where were you last Saturday at my event however?
Also in case you didn't get the email Stogels is hosting a Poker series with the first tourney on 1/29 at 2pm.
P.S. What do you guys think of Tilt after two episodes?

Tubes beat me to it, but I was going to post the email I sent out just in case I left anyone out or people didn't get the invite. Here is the email:
Hello, all.
I will be hosting a recurring poker tournament starting on Saturday, January 29. The tourney will start at 2:00 p.m. Here's the short version. Email me (stogels@yahoo.com) for an in-depth description.
Date: 1/29/05
Time: 2:00 p.m. (please be present or call by 1:30)
Game: No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Buy-in: $30 gets 2500 in chips ($5 held for finals)
Rebuys/Add-on: None.
Payouts: 8 players, top 2. 9-16 players, top 3. 17-24 players, top 4. 25-32 players, top 5.
One to two tourneys per month with two weeks' notice.
Point system: 1pt for last, then 3 for next out (2 more), 6 for next out (3 more), and so on. Bonus points will be awarded for final table, final 3, and to the winner.
The Championship in November will be a freeroll for the players with the most points. The top 6 in points are automatically in the single-table Championship, and the next 8 (spots 7 through 14) will play in a Wildcard single-table game to fill the final two spots (last two standing). The starting chip amounts will be determined by point totals. Everyone in the Championship and Wildcard will have some payout (probably starting at $20 for the six Wildcard runner ups). Bulk of Prize Pool paid to Top 3 spots.

BTW, Hank. Put me down as an attendee. Just remind us at the beginning of the week. If I'm in town, I'll try to make sure I'm there.
Also, too. If anyone is interested in playing on-line poker and have never put any money at Party Poker (or any of their other similar sites, I think), email me if you'd like to try to get some free cashola to try to play with. I saw about this Instant Bankroll thing at a poker forum, signed up the Missus (since I've put money there way back when), and she has $75 in her real money account now (and $25 in her bonus account that she needs to "release" by playing raked hands).
Anyway, no credit card info. They send you an email that will give you a number to call, but again, no credit card info. Seems to be legit. If you've played for "play chips" at Parter Poker, you don't need a new signup name, I don't believe. It's just for those who have never deposited money.
The only catch I've seen is it's limited to 30 a day, but if you sign up in the A.M., I think you're okay. There were 25 signed up as of about 10 minutes ago.

Will do, Steve.
Tubes, I apologize for missing Saturday and would really have enjoyed/learned from it. I had a situation - one of my garage door springs snapped - no damage - Lucille was out of harms' way, but I had to make a few trips to my "personal" Home Depot and spend the day replacing the springs, safety cables, main cables, 4 pulleys, etc. Not my fav way to spend a Saturday, but it WAS DIY and i saved good money by DIYing it.
Okay, Friday, Feb 11:
Shazam
Bogey
Tubes

Update for Feb 11:
Shazam
Bogey
Tubes
S.S.
3 of Shazam's friends
We need 2 or 3 more - you know, in case of no-shows. You do NOT want to miss the model railroad layout. I think I can get Colton to attend, if he's in town.
Where is Big Dog?
Where is The Kid?

Okay, time to take rollcall (hopefully). I believe that Tubes is in for my tourney this Saturday. It starts at 2:00 p.m. (with people hopefully showing up around 1:30 to 1:45). It's a $30 buy-in, no-limit hold'em tourney. No rebuys, just "Here's your chips. Don't lose 'em."
I'm trying to drum up some interest since most of my cousin's group will not be able to make it since one of their own's child is turning one on Saturday. So it will be pretty much guys from another group I play with (self dubbed the "Dead Money Group"...and rightfully so) and those I can get from HTF and Mother Egan's. So, if ever there were a time to try to play tight aggressive, it's this week as the GoldTooph group will be very absent.
So, Nils (c'mon, baby...you need a break), Hayenga bros (time to raise the risk/reward bar...and bring your college buddies, Mitch), Jeff Left & Right (Blair is currently a maybe), chime in and let me know if there's any hope of getting you guys here for a tourney. Should be plenty o fun, and it's a chance to get a point lead on some of the absent players for the free roll tourney at the end of the year (every little bit will help).
Jon, bring the missus so we'll have two more. Hank, break your rules and play in the structured tourney (you are the best in the world at hanging on with next to nothing, and it's all about staying alive). Chad and Colton, come on down.
Come on HTF, come and represent!!!!
Steve

I'm not a gambler. The only reason I tend to play is to meet people and socialize. So a tournament isn't really something that would interest me. When you have a casual game going on with a minimal buy in, I'd be interested, just so I can meet some more of the local group. I can't do Saturday afternoons anyway, because I work every Thursday thru Saturday and every other Wednesday 7am to 7pm.

So, for warmer weather evening fajitas, movies, poker, we now have a telescope for kickin' it up a notch. Goal is to have the rings of Saturn on display for the group.

Wait a minute... Isn't that cute red head who lives across the street named Saturn??? (Must have had hippy parents)
As for the gathering on the 11th, please add me to the attendee list.

Done, and Done. If another joins, no problem. We can do shifts, watch a movie, discuss trains, etc, etc.

Finally a full game, I had almost forgotten what a full table looks like.

Hank what is the start and end time of your gathering on the 11th? I have to work until 7pm. I don't care if I play poker or not, but wouldn't mind showing up to meet some of the gang and just hang out watching movies or whatever.
