Sounds good Jeff, I am in.
We just need to make sure to get a table cloth that will work or someone to bring their their Poker top as the chips need the padding.

Hi - I've been consumed at work and Taylor's next playoff game is in Waco tomorrow, BUT, I can host Sunday. I see Jeff M has volunteered, so I don't want to step on his toes, so I'll let the group decide. I'm open, and if the weather is nice we can throw something on the grill. No matter, let's Just Do It!

Sorry dudes, one word - finals. Got two of 'em on the 9th, and one of those is organic chemistry. The other is third semester Japanese. Yeah. Um, I'll be busy for the next few days....

Here are the challenges that face me:
1. I forgot that liquor stores are closed on Sunday. I said I was going to provide b00ze, but all I'll be able to provide is beer (if the grocery store will sell it to me on a Sunday).
2. If we start the game at 5PM, I now realize that people are going to want dinner... not just snack food. Hank set the bar pretty damn high with those kickass fajitas. I'm not sure I can follow that.
3. I have 4 real chairs, 2 rolling office chairs, and 2 lawn chairs. It's enough for 8 people, but the two people in the lawn chairs will be kinda low-riding it.
With these things in mind, I'm still very happy to host. If it would be easier to just do it at Hank's because he has chairs and knows how to cook, that's fine too. We just better decide here pretty quick.

I really don't care either way. Myt houghts are fajitas at Hank's would be cool, but Hank has been hosting alot and cooking alot for these things. Thus, I think it would be fun to go to a new host's place. Chairs are not a problem I have three portable chairs and Hank has an army of great metal folding chairs. As for food we could just do some sort of take-out to fulfill any hunger needs.
My big concern is how are we doing on number of attendees Jeff?
Here is what I know:
you
your relative
Hank
me
Nils - yes if he wasn't still sick
Steve - hopefully yes
then I sent out an email to some usual suspects last night
Jeff have you contacted Hugh Johnson to see if he would be interested in joining us again for poker?

Cool. It's settled. It'll be here at my place. Take-out will solve the hunger problem. Unless there are objections, I'll pick up a wide variety of goodies from Rudy's BBQ.
CONFIRMED:- Me
- Scott, my brother in law
- Scott Oliver
- Hank
- Hugh Johnson
MAYBE:- Mike Braithwaite: I don't think I've met him. He emailed and asked to come.
- Nils
Edit: if anyone wants to bring some good poker music along on compact disc, that would be cool. You can never go wrong with blues, or Jazz at the Pawn Shop.

Well, this officially sucks.
I will yet again have to miss poker. I've got Mirus work to do -- uh, I mean that I'll be working on my stenographic duties. I have waaay too many pages and edited waaay too few yesterday (in no small part because I was pulling for a bunch of underdogs hoping that the Horns can maybe get a BCS birth, and it may have all been for naught...unless Cal's struggles with Southern Miss is enough to drop Cal .0014 points in the BCS).
Anyway, long story short is that I will be unable to attend yet again. This is really getting old. Good news is that when it finally slows down I'll have plenty of money to give...I mean lose to Tubes, Nils, and Hayenga if I ever see him again.
Have fun, guys, and pour a beer on the ground for your fallen homie

Just HOW many years have you lived in Texas, Jeff?

Not necesarily - at least I don't expect to be fed dinner. If there's plenty of quality beer and lots of chips and dips, I'm a happy guy.
With the crummy weather, I'm not going to grill or cook a meal. I should work on my review material for work rather than play at poker, but...hey, I've procrastinated before.
What'll it be?
