Ok I am going to try this again. This time with a whole lot of warning.
I would like to host Poker on either Jan 27th or 28th. That should be Friday or Saturday.
With all the usual accoutrements, but I would also highly encourage maybe we go with some food in conjunction with it and having folks who want to come over for food be here a bit earlier than the usual 7 o'clock start time. I don't know what yet but I will think of something.
Maybe 5:30 or 6:00 for food and start poker close to 7:00.
Why the food because for those interested in sound reproduction thye should really come over and hear my new preamp and what it is doing for the system as a whole (without a poker table in the middle of the soundfield). Two days into ownership and so far I am stunned by it.
So start the RSVP list now, first 7 are in.

The 27th is my birthday, so I'd rather play poker than think about my age, so, as the TCU character in "Tin Cup" said: "I'm in!"
Speaking of TCU, my daughter and her fiance graduated from there two weeks ago and now they are both RN's and will work at Ft. Worth's Harris Methodist Hospital, she in Cardiac I.C.U. and he in Cardiovascular I.C.U. They want to settle in Austin in a few years, SO, our Texas Hold 'em group will have readily available help in case someone keels over face-down onto the poker table (Strubel?).
Hey, I'm off to the Consumer Electronics Show Wednesday! Our flight arrives at 7:30 pm and the Rose Bowl starts at 8:00 pm, so I'll probably watch the game in the hotel bar. My son Sean (sr. at UT) flew to Phoenix with a friend yesterday and they'll drive to Pasadena Wednesday. They have NO tickets, so keep your fingers crossed for a benevolent scalper!

Friends, music, dinner, a bit o' poker...hey, it doesn't get any better than that. I just want Barrister to be there with me sitting to his right 
C.E.S. was a bloody meeting-infested ordeal. BUT, our technology was in a projector in Toshiba's booth. We have arrived! Also, T.I. displayed a unit. More later. |
