I was the small blind and had about 2/5 of the chips in play. I had just doubled up on him.

I am dealt suited QJ and decide that is good enough to try it again. He calls with pocket 2's, and no face cards ever come. So I don't know the exact odds but I am pretty sure I am at least a 50% favorite if not a couple points above him actually.

Bummer. I got a $25 gift certificate for my efforts.

However I am certainly having a dominating run at the Fado tournaments.

Pre-flop you had a 52% chance of winning - aka coin flip. After the flop that would have dropped to about 30%.

I hate getting called on an all-in coin flip.

BTW: Anyone Interested in a Poker Game this Friday or Saturday Night?

I would be interested, but unsure of my exact schedule as my parents are coming into town.

So I would probably not be available until a bit later than usual.

Um....the run has certainly extended to mi casa as well. Ignoring that poker book you borrowed from me has certainly served you well.

Oh yeah reading a few chapters of TJ Cloutier's "Let's Only Play Aces" book has really helped!

I have some plans for a very nice poker table that will be a piece of furniture if I build it.
That sounds like a fun project!

If I can convince the Mrs. to OK a permanent table for our next house, this is the design I am currently most interested in:

(great looking table, but what is up with those pink walls?!?!)[/c]

I got her to sign off on a dedicated theater, but a poker room might be asking too much. I wonder if one could design a poker table top that would fit over a pool table like they do for ping pong table tops - or would that result in too high and too large of a poker table?

Does either night work for you Scott?

Anyone else interested in having a poker game this Friday or Saturday night?

YES.

I'll show you the plans I have for that furniture poker table. You can also build a solid, 2-piece top veneered in whatever you like, and you'll have a beautiful dining table for daily use. No need to push your luck to the limit by asking the Mrs. for permission to have a poker room in addition to an HT room (Death Wish, anyone??).

I could handle a few rounds of our favorite sporting game Friday night.

Friday night is now out for me, as Maria wants to go out that night.

So, I don't know I guess poker just won't be possible this weekend for me, although it looks there isn't enough interest anyhow.

It just takes the right woman Hank. Raelene insisted on a game room and instigated the purchase of our new poker table.

Hope everyone has a great 4th. Raelene and I will be in Colorado for some needed vacation time.
