HOLY$%@!
I just got back from George's place about three hours ago and I'm speechless! George is a great guy and a great host, again thanks for having me over. For those who haven't heard George's theater, it sounds great and to think he's not even finished! Can't imagine what it would sound like once he's all done. I set a budget for around $2000 to invest in a tv but after coming from George's place he's got me thinking about a projector for my setup instead of a RPTV. George has an InFocus X1 projector with screen. I forgot the size already but it was big and it looked great. I have the room for one and a perfect wall to mount the screen too. So I definitely plan on researching this over the months to come. I can't even imagine playing Halo deathmatch on this thing, it would be an experience. I also felt bass shakers for the first time too and I loved them. I plan on getting some of these when I get some new seats. Just to let everyone know they were off except for when he showed them to me.
Now onto the SVS! First few words that come to mind after listening to an SVS is wow, amazing, unbelievable, jaw dropping! I mean my experience with it was that good! I now want my SVS even more than ever before and I can't believe I have to wait two more long weeks to place my order.

It will be well worth it though.
First thing I noticed like everyone has mentioned is that its bigger than I thought it would be, but it was beautiful. I can't see why some try to hide it and why wives hate them. While I was reading about SVS subs and other great subs in general I learned that great subs work when needed. Unlike cheap subs that work any little chance they get thus is why they sound boomy, and also to make up for not being able to hit low.
So I expected this to be the case before I heard the SVS and after hearing it I was reassured. I mean it worked when it was suppose to and it did it while going low and shaking me in the process in some scenes. Even though we were sitting on top of a slab of concrete as if the theater was in a basement. This says alot for a sub when it can have this effect.
First thing George popped in was a demo disc which had a whole bunch of THX, DTS, and I think Dolby Digital intro's too. It also had the pod race scene from Star Wars in DTS and this was the first thing he showed me. Boy was I blown away!, I mean I had a smile from ear to ear and I could not believe what I was hearing. I've seen this scene quit a few time with older setups of my own and I've heard bass that I've never heard before. Second thing I noticed is like I said earlier is that the bass was there when it was needed and was clean and tight at the same time. Unlike my current sub where it plays pretty much thru the whole thing.
He than showed my some THX demo's and I saw a George Lucas preview that had clips of Indiana Jones and the original Star Wars trilogy. Towards the end they had these explosions going on that could be felt to the point where I got goose bumps from it.
After that it was on to the drag race scene in The Fast and the Furious. Hehe, man another great sounding demo and to finish it off a freeway crash scene from Final Destination 2. This was just as good as the pod race demo. Definitely good showoff material. I have to get this DVD now just from viewing that one scene.
In closing the SVS blew my expectations out of the water and I can't wait till I get mine. On top of that I got to meet George who was a good sport for inviting to his home and a great guy at that. Now that George and I live so close I hope we can invite each other over to watch a movie every once and awhile. A mini meet you can say. Seriously though he lives two blocks away, I could walk to his house and be there in less than five minutes thats how close we live to each other.
