Hey LaMarcus and all,

Sorry I didn't make it! Things just weren't going my way Saturday. I was disappointed- sounds like I missed a great time. Hopefully things won't be as crazy for me around the time of the next meet.

First of all, I would like to truly thank LaMarcus for a hugely enjoyable evening. It was great LaMarcus.

This is really the first setup I've went to where it is setup truly like a theater and better.

The couch's were great and the TV was just the right height. The interesting thing was that during the movie the room was so dark that you couldn't make out the TV - just the screen. I was impressed with that. I sat in the front and the back on purpose and I was extremely impressed with the sound and the TV. I don't know what science you used to get the heights on the couch's and the TV right but it worked very well indeed.

Also, I was impressed with the JBL speakers. Great sound with the SVS and the bass shakers added a whole new dimension to the experience.

Seeing Alans and LaMarcus's now makes me realize that I would like mine in the basement. I won't be able to actually put the theater in the basement for a few years yet but I am building the basement in this summer. I will be prepared for a HT by placing the speaker wire in the walls beforehand and I'll be using my old Bose and My Son's JBL's for a 5.1 system with a new Pioneer 912 and my 36 inch Sony TV.

I can't beleive that 811 for the money and the 912 is now on my list for the basement.

When the kids leave I'll design a killer system and you guys will have some competition.

Anyway, LaMarcus, you were great and I had a wonderful time.

Your HT Nerd buddy,

Mike

Gee whiz Mike you trying to make me blush?:b I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. You all are really making me think twice about getting a front projector.

The receiver I have Mike is actually the entry level Elite. It's one thing that keeps it from having the Elite name on it and thats the re-eq feature (some bull like that).

My couches are very comfortable, and their known to put folks to sleep. Just ask Alan.

Was that camera digital, LaMarcus? There didn't seem to be any sound coming from it. If so, then why aren't the pictures up yet?!

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

Yeah, it was digital. I haven't put them up yet because I'm not sure how Parker told Allan how he wanted it to happen. If I should post em here or where ever.

Hey guys,

Sorry it took so long to write in, but so much seems to be going on lately.

Once again, the meet was a blast. Sorry about the skipping of the movie, guys. Weird how LaMarcus, Dave, and I were able to finish it with no problem after everyone left.

Those bass shakers were very cool. When I went to work on Monday, everyone asked how the meet was and I told them. As soon as I mentioned the bass shakers, this one guy became real interested. I go to work today (Tuesday) and find out he ordered ten of them. Six for him, and he took it upon himself to order the other four for me!

I also bought "Equilibrium" on the way home from the meet. Thanks, Dave, for bringing that over, what a cool movie.

It was good to finally meet "Ludacris" Al. Hope to see more of you, Al, but hopefully you'll be awake enough to have a conversation!

Nice to see you again, Kevin, Dave, and Mike. And it was good to meet you Thomas. Maybe, next meet, Thomas will say a few sentences.

When and where's the next meet?!

Great system, LaMarcus, and your setup is very cool.

Hey, Chad, see ya at the next one, or when I get a screen!

Your buddy,
George

Yeah I tried to get equilibrium yesterday, but they ran out. I bought Tears of the Sun though. You guys have to get this movie. It's by far the best movie I seen to fully use the surround speakers. It's an amazing movie!!!

I watched a little of it down at Soundwaves last night.

Great sound effects ....... I was eyeing the front projection units and will make sure my basement is set up so that in 3 years I can make the leap.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed what you saw of Equilibrium. The discussion thread in the Movies section keeps reappearing due to people discovering the movie on DVD. I just watched it with my brother and brother-in-law the other night, and there are now two more converts.

There's also a thread in the Coupons and Bargains section about B-stock InFocus X1's for $695! Man, if I only had a house. And $695.
